St. Francis de Sales Parish School will celebrate Halloween on Thursday, October 29! Students are invited to wear Halloween costumes to school and participate in our Halloween activities and parade.
To ensure a fun, safe celebration for everyone, costumes should be fun, safe, modest, respectful, and appropriate for a Catholic school environment.
Costume Guidelines
- School-Appropriate Attire: Costumes must be modest and appropriate for school. No revealing clothing, offensive images, or inappropriate language.
- Masks and Face Coverings: Students may wear masks and full-face coverings only during the Halloween parade. Students must remain easily identifiable throughout the rest of the school day.
- Weapons, Costume Props and Accessories: Small, lightweight, harmless accessories are permitted if they are appropriate for school and do not disrupt learning or pose a safety risk. Weapons or weapon-like props, sharp objects, hard projectiles, or items that could be used to strike or injure someone are not permitted. The school reserves the right to restrict any accessory deemed unsafe or disruptive.
- No Excessive Gore: Costumes may not include excessive blood, gore, wounds, or disturbing images.
- Respect for Others: Costumes must not mock or disrespect any person, group, culture, religion, or disability.
- Safe and Manageable Costumes: Inflatable costumes and costumes that are excessively large, restrictive, or disruptive are not permitted.
- Freedom to Participate: Students must be able to walk safely, sit at their desks, use the restroom, and participate in all school activities while wearing their costumes.
If you are unsure whether a costume is appropriate, please contact the school office before October 29.
Thank you for helping us make Halloween a fun, safe, and positive celebration for all our students!
